PetroVietnam Power facility with two GE Alstom GT13E2 gas turbines equipped with MeeFog systems

PetroVietnam Power enhanced the performance on two GE Alstom GT13E2 gas turbines with MeeFog. These advanced MeeFog systems provide fog evaporative cooling and wet compression, utilizing skids with sixteen pumps and sixteen stages of fogging each. They deliver a 15 MW power boost, resulting in a total power boost of 30 MW for both units. The improved efficiency and output demonstrate the substantial benefits of MeeFog systems for large-scale power generation.

Project Conditions:

Location: Nhon Trach, Vietnam
Hot day conditions: 32.6 °C / 48% RH with 23.8 °C wet bulb
Elevation: Sea Level
Max power boost per GT: 15 MW
Mee’s scope of work: Supply of fog pump skid, nozzle manifolds, and supervision of installation and commissioning.

Fog System Design:

Cooling Stages: 16 (evaporative cooling and 0.6% wet compression)
Operating Pressure: 2,000 psi
Fog Droplet Size: 12 micron
MeeFog™ Nozzle Count: 2,048
