MeeFog Skid Upgrade Boosts Power Output by 30 MW
Gas Turbine Inlet Air CoolingThis power plant is located in the state of Chihuahua in Northwest Mexico, at an altitude of 1,260 meters. The first MeeFog installation was in 2006. In 2021 the plant wanted to upgrade the fog skids, so new MeeFog wet compression and inlet cooling systems were fitted onto the GE 7FA gas turbine. This raised the output the turbine from 110 MW to 140 MW for a total power boost of 30 MW. The fog systems cost much less than chillers or other power augmentation systems and far less than adding new turbomachinery.
