Inlet Cooling & Wet Compression Boosts Power Output by 20 MW
Gas Turbine Inlet Air CoolingIn 2000, MeeFog systems were installed on two Siemans V64.3 gas turbines. These systems offer both inlet cooling and wet compression. Wet compression consists of spraying water into the gas turbine compressor. The water evaporates inside the compressor giving an inter-cooling effect that reduces the work of compression, which causes an increase in power output. Each system provides a 10 MW power boost resulting in a 20 MW boost for the plant. This customer continues to get maximum output with MeeFog whenever additional load is required.
