APR Energy Generates 16 MW Boost with MeeFog
Gas Turbine Inlet Air CoolingTripoli, Libya – 4 x Pratt & Whitney FT8 Gas Turbines
APR leased their FT8 Mobile Packs to General Electric Company of Libya. These provided a quick power solution to a remote location in the Sahara, about one day’s drive from the urban centers along the Mediterranean coast. Due to the extreme desert climate, MeeFog Systems were necessary to recover power that otherwise would be lost. The system features 14 cooling stages and operates at 2,000 psi, effectively reducing inlet air temperatures and enhancing turbine performance.
